My favorite is LMKIYHAQ, a common email sign-off that a former boss of mine used. Means "let me know if you have any questions."

YAML is the markup language that uses tabs and json-like format, and its files end in .yml. YML is a very different thing, xml-like and all. Last I heard, YAML stands for YAML Ain't Markup Language, in the tradition of GNU's Not Unix and PHP: Hypertext Processor.

First time I ever heard of (B)BIAB. Always use BRB to get the meaning across. If someone said BBIAB to me, I would respond with simply "?"... very confusing indeed.

This post reminds me of the age-old .htm vs. .html file extensions, that confused me way back when I was using Claris HomePage.

I may be wrong -- it may be YAML, not YML, but the file extension is
.yml
for both. And they're pronounced the same, which is frustrating.

Also the bang stays: it's part of the official title, damnit! ;)

I mostly agree with you, except that I use "k" all the time and I doubt I'll ever stop. Sorry about that.

Mostly though, this marks the first time I've seen Yet Another Markup Language initialized as YML instead of YAML. A quick search for "Yet Another Markup Language" reveals an old document at http://yaml.org/, which now labels itself as YAML Ain't Markup Langauge (cashing in on both a recursive acronym *and* a nonsense word -- score! *sigh*).

So that leaves me wondering if your reference to Yet Another Markup Language is in fact the YAML that is now named something else, or if you guys at Yahoo! (and seriously, enough with the exclamation point already, guys) actually invented Yet Another Yet Another Markup Language ... Food for thought.
